Expensive pig statue stolen from Chatsworth House estate

An expensive statue of a pig balancing a ball on its snout has been stolen from the Chatsworth House estate.

The ceramic statue was on display in the stately home’s farm shop at Pilsley when it was taken.

A man walked into the shop at about 12.35pm on Saturday, placed the statue in a bag and then walked out without paying.

Police investigating the theft have issued a photograph of the statue and are urging anyone with information on its whereabouts to get in touch.

The statue is about 18in in height.

The offender was white, about 5ft 8in, of stocky build, with dark hair and tattoos on his arms.

He was wearing a short sleeve body warmer type jacket and red trainers.
