Young people have been celebrating their farming heritage as part of an arts project.

Students of Highfields School were presented with a copy of the Combine Commemorative Book after taking part in the Combine Farming Heritage East Midlands project.

The project coordinator Jane Wells, of Junction Arts, made the presentations and she was joined by the project artist Danny Callaghan and farmer Gilly Groom from Manor Farm in Dethick.

Combine, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, sees young people from across the county involved in researching and celebrating the rich farming heritage of their area. An exhibition showcasing the research is now touring the East Midlands until 2014 and will be visiting Derbyshire next spring.
