“There is quite a strong theme of history in the book due to my backround, but it also has fantasy and horror.”
St Matthew’s Church, in Pentrich, is one of the focal points of the story, as the lead character, maverick detective called Bill Clements, discovers a portal to another world beneath it. What follows is a battle between good and evil.
Barry, who also co–owns Amber Valley Wines, has previously written non fiction, including ‘Hunting in Britain from the Ice Age to the present’, but he has wanted to expend into fiction for some time.
