Firefighters rescue casualty after Stoney Middleton road crash

Firefighters freed a casualty who was trapped in a vehicle after a crash in Stoney Middleton.

The collision happened on the A623 road, between two vehicles, about 7.10pm, on Tuesday, September 16.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “One casualty was in the care of the ambulance service on the arrival of firefighters.

“Another female casualty was trapped by her injuries and crews had to remove the roof of the vehicle before she was taken to hospital by ambulance.”

Firefighters, including crews from Chesterfield and Hathersage, took part in the rescue and made the crash site safe for other motorists by about 8pm.
