Campaigners against a controversial housing development for Wirksworth say they hope to continue their fight.
The scheme, submitted by Westleigh Developments for the Kingsfield site, will see the pub on Derby Road demolished and 12 flats and seven houses built.
It was given the go-ahead by the district council last week.
Resident Kevin Spencer said: “The decision has not been accepted very well at all in Wirksworth.”
Neighbour Ellen Newman added: “We just felt it was a done deal.
“We all went away really upset from the meeting, we just couldn’t believe it as there are far better sites for affordable housing.
“The group needs to meet up and see if there is anything else we can do. I don’t think we are going to leave it at this.”
