Flooding of roads around River Wye '˜possible' due to heavy rainfall

Flooding of roads around Bakewell is possible after 'persisent rainfall', it has been warned.

Levels on the River Wye are highand will remain high throughout today (Tuesday, April 3) according to the Flood Information Service.

Flooding of low lying agricultural land and roads is possible around Bakewell and Ashford.

Further showery rainfall is forecast today and tomorrow.

Residents are urged to “prepare, remain vigilant and avoid walking and driving through flood water”.

The service said: “We are closely monitoring the situation.”
