Midlands accountants, Smith Cooper, has forged a unique partnership with The Air Ambulance Service (TAAS) to help save lives nationwide.
The Air Ambulance Service is the umbrella charity for two Air Ambulances; Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) and sister service, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
These two services are the busiest Air Ambulances in the country; carrying out more than 220 life changing and life-saving missions each month.
In December 2011 TAAS took over The Children’s Air Ambulance to provide a bespoke helicopter transfer service for seriously ill children, moving them safely and quickly between hospitals for specialist care.
Using its vast medical, aviation and fundraising expertise, TAAS will operate the Children’s Air Ambulance from its base at Coventry Airport from Autumn 2012.
Catherine Foster, Head of Corporate Relations for TAAS commented: “We are delighted that Smith Cooper have chosen us as their charity partner, not least because they are the first organisation to support The Air Ambulance Service in its entirety and will be concentrating their fundraising efforts across the Midlands in a variety of ways”
Smith Cooper was founded in 1985 and is one of the Midlands’ most progressive firms of accountants and business advisors. They have nine offices across the Midlands - in Derby, Burton, Nottingham, Leicester, Birmingham, Alfreton, Ashbourne, Ilkeston and Buxton.
Paul Duffin, Smith Cooper’s Senior Partner, said: “We are launching our relationship with TAAS officially in April and already we have a number of exciting initiatives planned, including staff participation in the Heroes Run events across our region.
“We are proud to be supporting our regional Air Ambulances, as well as the newly formed Children’s Air Ambulance through our relationship with TAAS and across all our nine offices.”
