Four mountain rescue teams were called into action when a 30-year-old hill walker became lost on Kinder Scout.

Glossop, Kinder, Edale and Buxton mountain rescue teams combed the area on Sunday evening, together with search dogs, to find the man who had reported himself lost.

The missing walker was located by the Edale teams in the upper reaches of Blackden Brook on the northern edges of the plateau.

He was unharmed but pleased to see the search dog unit and was escorted across the plateau back to Edale village, arriving safe and well.
