Funding worth £60,00 will help improve recreational opportunities for disabled youngsters in the Dales.
Roundabouts with wheelchair access, musical activity panels, adapted picnic benches and outdoor table tennis tables will be installed in the Derbyshire District Council’s Ashbourne Recreation Ground, Bakewell Recreation Ground and Matlock Hall Leys Park by the end of March.
Accessible play equipment will also be added to parks in Butts Road, Darley Dale, Highfield Road in Ashbourne and Wirksworth’s Gorsey Bank.
The money has been awarded through the council’s Aiming High project.
Cllr Steve Bull said: “We are delighted the District Council has won this substantial funding so disabled children can play alongside able-bodied friends and family members.”
