Fundraising hopes are spot on

In aid of The Rams’ Kenyan Adventure project Derby County mascot Rammie will be hosting a Penalty Shoot-out at the Eagle Market in Derby this Saturday.

Derby County in the Community and a number of participants will travel to Africa next month to spend up to ten days working on community projects in a developing area of south-west Kenya.

By taking participants to Kenya, Derby County in the Community aims to raise £20,000 towards sustaining the successful disability programme with offers vulnerable adults and young people the opportunity to play and enjoy football, creating a level playing field for all.

The Penalty Shoot-out will be staged at the centre of the market between 10am and 2pm. Children can try their luck against Rammie for just £1 for three penalties.

Melinda Kirkland, markets officer, backing the event, said: “Derby City Council’s Markets Team and the Eagle Market Traders are glad to help DCFC with their Rams Kenyan Adventure Fundraising and hope that the people of Derby will support the event.’

All money raised will help to fund the Kenya Adventure project and will also support the 2012 Kenya Adventure Community Development Pledge, which invests resources and equipment into the projects Kenya Adventure supports.
