Funeral details for Dowager Duchess of Devonshire announced

The service will take place at St Peter’s Church, Edensor on Thursday, October 2 at 12 noon.

The funeral cortège will leave Chatsworth at around 11.15am.

Following the service there will be refreshments served back at Chatsworth House.

Her son, the 12th Duke of Devonshire, said in a statement: “Everyone is welcome to attend.

“There will be refreshments at Chatsworth after the service.”

“No memorial service will be held, as were her express instructions.

“Donations in her memory to the Addington Fund and Helen’s Trust will be much appreciated.”

The Dowager Duchess, known to friends as Debo, passed away on Wednesday morning aged 94.

The Addington Fund provides homes for farming families who leave the industry and by doing so will lose their home.

Helen’s Trust provides support to terminally ill people and their families who decide to stay at home.
