St Lawrence Church, in St Lawrence Road, North Wingfield, was packed with the family and friends of Josie Lisa Leighton, 32, and her sons Jordan, 12, and Tyler Green, 9.

The accidental electrical fire in Williamthorpe Road, North Wingfield, also claimed the life of Josie’s friend Claire James, 27, whose funeral was held earlier this week. Claire’s daughter Tia, 7, was the only survivor of the fatal blaze.

‘Let Her Go’ by Passenger played as the coffins the deceased were brought into the church.

Leading the service, Reverend Colin Cooper said: “We have come her today to remember before God Josie, Jordan and Tyler – to give thanks for their lives.”

Family friend and reader Stephen Wright said relatives of the deceased were eternally grateful for the generosity that had been shown by members of the community who have rallied together to show their support for them.

Mourners joined together to sing All Things Bright and Beautiful and The Lord’s My Shepherd.

The service ended to the sound of One Way Or Another by One Direction, and the coffins were carried out of the church and to Dark Lane Cemetery, where they were laid to rest.
