Girl, 11, assaulted in Langwith

A man has been arrested in connection with an assault on an 11-year-old girl in Langwith.

At around 5.30pm on yesterday (Saturday, November 7), police received a report that an 11-year-old girl had been assaulted on a path off The Woodlands.

The girl suffered bruising and a man was arrested shortly after the incident was reported to officers. Detectives would like to reassure residents that initial inquiries indicate that this is as isolated incident.

The 26-year-old man remains in custody and is being questioned.
