A SCHOOL is celebrating after receiving a rating of “good” by government inspectors.
A report compiled by Ofsted found that standards at Elton Primary School were typically above average at the school by the time pupils leave.
Inspectors, who visited for two days last month, also reported that headteacher Paul Hunter leads by example and manages the quality of teaching well.
They added that the school’s success was largely down to the amount of individual attention staff give pupils.
They also found a high-quality nurture and care for pupils, good teaching throughout, well behaved pupils and that teachers and teaching assistants form effective partnerships.
Headteacher Paul Hunter: “We’re delighted with the report which highlights the quality of our teaching and the behaviour of our pupils.”
To continue improving, the school has been urged to raise attainment in writing further, and increase the proportion of outstanding teaching.
