Grass fire in Hathersage

Firefighters from Hathersage were called to tackle a grass fire on moorland close to the village.

On Monday, May 27 at 4.39pm, crews were called to the A6187 road, in Hathersage, to extinguish the 15 metre patch of moorland – which firefighters described as “well alight”.

Crews used beaters and one hose-reel jet to extinguish the blaze and left the scene at 5.43pm.
