GRASSROOTS: Award-winner visits Matlock club
There was a different tone to the last meeting of the Matlock Luncheon Club as authoress Catherine Bailey, writer of the two books Black Diamonds and Secret Rooms was presented as a guest.
The club learnt that Catherine read history at Oxford University and is an award-winning television producer and director, making a range of critically acclaimed documentary films inspired by her interest in twentieth-century history.
In the questions put to Catherine afterwards she told us for her next project she was looking at the 60’s for inspiration as a period of instability. Jean Collins gave a vote of thanks. By Eileen Hall.
