REQUESTS for more grit bins in Darley Dale are to be rejected by the town council, it has been agreed.
With the cold weather approaching, residents have penned letters to the council asking for more bins to be placed on street corners.
The requests came from those living on Gill Lane and at the top of Foggs Hill.
Recently, one was ordered for Oker Avenue but the rising costs of both bins and grit led to a lengthy discussion at the recent town council meeting.
The council eventually agreed that a maximum of £2,000 will be spent on grit in the coming winter months, but no more bins will be bought.
