More than 150 members of voluntary and community groups got together to celebrate the work of charities last week.
The Celebrating Success event in Matlock highlighted the good work being done by charities and voluntary groups.
The event also marked the launch of Derbyshire County Council’s new Community Action Grant.
The grant is an opportunity for voluntary groups to share in £250,000 designed to help them build strong, vibrant communities.
The grants are open to groups across Derbyshire with a maximum of £1,000 awarded for each successful application.
At the launch event at County Hall last week, groups from across Derbyshire had the chance to learn more about the new grants as well as find out about other funding and support available to them.
Charities, community and voluntary groups, sports clubs and social enterprises can all apply for a grant.
The grants can be used for buying and hiring equipment, hiring a venue, travel, training fees and materials for a project.
Groups can apply any time until 14 December 2012. For an application form call 08456 058 058 or visit www.derbyshire.gov.uk/CAG
