Young gardeners are celebrating after getting a £2,000 grant to expand their allotment project.
Pupils at Castle View Primary, in Matlock, are set to create more raised beds, hanging baskets and a greenhouse thanks to the money from energy company E.ON’s community fund.
Pupils hope to grow more vegetables which will be used by the school canteen for the pupil’s lunches.
The school’s gardening club also hosted a raffle and cake sale which raised a further £220.
Teacher Caroline Jones said: “We hope to grow more vegetables and give produce to the canteen so the children can eat their own food and also take it home.”
