The winner of the Heage Windmill arts challenege have been named.
The contest has now been renamed ‘The Margaret Bonsall Art Challenge’ to honour the memory of the long time past organiser of the event, whodied recently. The challenge facing the artists was to produce an image of windmill, in the
media of the their choice, in just four hours .
The clear winner was Sue Colclough, of Clowne, who produced an acrylic representation.
Pictured are, from left, Sue receiving ‘The Margaret Bonsall Bowl’ from Bryan Bonsall , event organiser, Freda Stallerbrass, and judges Doreen Andrews and Bryan Bonsall.
Sue is a member of the Barlborough art group. Certificates and monetaryprizes were given out by the two judges – Bryan Bonsall and Doreen Andrews, both artists from Matlock Art Group . Bryan , the husband of the late Margaret, presented Sue with the new trophy , a Dartington crystal rose bowl, which will be held for one year by the winner.
There was also a competition, for juniors under 16, which was won by seven-year-old Amy Womble, who lives in nearby Harthill, for her acrylic on canvas.
The event was sponsored by Albert Wild Coaches, of Heage, to whom we are very grateful.
