Help for hard of hearing

Patients with hearing problems in Derby are now benefiting from a new state-of-the-art piece of equipment thanks to a generous charitable donation.

The audiology service at Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was the second service in the world to start using the piece of equipment known as Aurical, which aims to improve patient safety and experience by using cutting edge technology.

Fourteen Auricals have been bought using an £84,000 donation from the League of Friends at the Royal Derby Hospital, London Road Community Hospital and the Children’s Hospital. They will be used for patients across all three hospitals.
