The mum of tragic Tansley teenager Gavin Webster presented a cheque for more than £5,000 to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research last week.
Gavin died in 2007 aged 17 after being diagnosed with non Hodgkins lymphoma.
Jeanette Kirk and sister-in-law Jayne Jenkins took part in the annual Cromford Walk in May, which raised £5,532 for the blood cancer charity.
They presented organisers with a cheque last week.
Jeanette said: “Since Gavin passed away we have done several events to raise money for charities very close to our hearts like this one, as seeing my son suffer and go through this should just not be allowed.
Organiser Keith Griffiths said: “A big thank you to all the runners and walkers who raised £5,532.”
