Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is taking part in a project to help raise funds for the children’s charity Save the Children, by recycling ink cartridges.
Recycling boxes have been placed throughout Trust HQ and Save the Children will receive £1 for every recyclable cartridge returned. This will also help the Trust reduce waste going to landfills.
Money raised from the recycling of ink cartridges will be used to help vulnerable children in the UK and worldwide have a brighter future.
Scott Darby, energy and environment officer, said: “It’s such a great feeling when you get to help two worthy causes at the same time, not only are we recycling and reducing waste but we’re also helping alleviate child poverty. This project has been led by members of staff and it’s down to their enthusiasm that we’ve taken part in this project.”
