HGV driver seriously injured following M1 collision

The accident occurred at around 4.55am this morning (Friday, April 18) on the M1 southbound at Blackwell, south of Tibshelf services.

It was a collision involving two HGVs, where by one ran into the rear of the other within the road works controlled area.

The injured driver was taken to Northern General Hospital, in Sheffield, for treatment.

The Central Roads Policing Unit is investigating the incident.
