Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Monday, May 19, how Paul Fletcher, 42, of Market Street, South Normanton, Alfreton, pleaded guilty by post to failing to provide the information after an incident in October.

Fletcher claimed he had not known about any traffic offence until he was interviewed at a previous address and previous correspondence was mistaken for junk mail.

He accepted that the letters were sent to his previous address and were not opened and there were further difficulties because the property in question was sold in January 2013.

Magistrates fined Fletcher £369 and ordered him to pay £35 costs and a £36 victim surcharge.

They also endorsed his driving licence with six points.
