Hill walker with head injury taken to hospital by ambulance

Edale and Buxton Mountain Rescue Teams came to the rescue of a hill walker who had fallen and sustained a head injury.

The fall happened near to Hollins Cross, not far from Castleton, about 2.45pm, on Friday, May 13.

As team members were deployed the Derbyshire Rutland and Leicester Air Ambulance was able to give the young lady a lift off the hill.

A land ambulance took her to hospital freeing up the air ambulance for other duties.

The team also thanked a nearby farm which kindly accommodated a number of team vehicles and an ambulance in their yard while the incident was ongoing.
