Ideas for a celebration

Matlock councillors are keen to hear how the community would like to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and The Olympics this year.

Residents are invited to a meeting in the Small Hall of the Imperial Rooms on Wednesday 25 January at 8pm to discuss any celebration-ideas they have to commemorate the two landmark events.

Cllr David Barker, chair of the working party, said: “It’s very important for us to hear how local people want to mark these occasions and we need to make sure we start planning in plenty of time as these are both great opportunities to celebrate.”

If you cannot attend the meeting but would still like to put forward your ideas, Matlock Town Council urges people to contact them on 01629 583042.
