One of Chesterfield’s oldest community-driven businesses has been delighted to join forces with the Derbyshire Times this year to support the Ashgate Hospice Flagg Cycle Challenge.
JE James Cycles, of Progress House, Brimington Road North, is sponsoring the DT Flagg Cycle Challenge charity ride which rolls out over ten, 25 and 55 mile Peak District routes on July 27.
Graeme Huston, DT editor, said: “JE James has long been involved in community initiatives supporting cycle teams, charities and fundraisers who take on sponsored rides for a variety of worthy causes.
“It’s a pleasure to have such a community-orientated cycle outlet on board to support Ashgate Hospice as the charity helps those facing life threatening illnesses and their families.”
JE James boasts a range of cycling needs over two floors including mountain and road bikes, a service and repairs workshop and accessories and parts.
Budding Flagg cyclists can pick up all they need including cycling clothes, protective gear, turbo trainers and nutritional supplies.
Experienced staff measure, fit and match riders to the right types of bikes for commuting, leisure riding, mountain biking and road racing.
JE James will be helping to provide a feed station during the Flagg Cycle Challenge with refreshments and is selling raffle tickets for a Specialised bike. Flagg Challenge entry costs £20 and people can register via www.ashgatehospicevents.co.uk/bike/bike.htm or get details by contacting email@example.com, Emily Evans on 01246 568801, or Derbyshire Times’ firstname.lastname@example.org and on 01246 504524.
