Jogger '˜punches' passers-by at Derbyshire beauty spot

Police are appealing for information following reports of a jogger allegedly punching passers-by at Carsington Water.

Officers were called by members of the public who reported being punched by a jogger around the Carsington Water beauty spot, at around 1.30pm on Tuesday, July 5.

One victim, a 66-year-old cyclist, was riding around the reservoir when a man ran towards him and attempted to punch him. The swing missed but caused the cyclist to fall off his bike and cut his hand.

The jogger was described as white, aged in his late 30s and had dark hair. He wore a black fleece, cut off camouflage trousers and a white beany style hat. The man was later spotted without his beany hat and had a shaved head.

Around the same time, a 35-year-old man was walking with a friend when a man, with the same description as above but believed to be aged around 45-years-old, ran towards them and punched the victim on his arm as he passed.

A 60-year-old man also reported being punched by the jogger on the side of his head as he ran passed.

Police were called and searched the area but were unable to find the jogger.
