It has been almost a year since the last Holocaust Memorial Day. Many of you joined us on January 27 at Derbyshire Constabulary HQ to commemorate victims of Holocaust and learn from the past to create a safer better future.
I would like to take this opportunity and invite you to this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day organised with Derbyshire County Council and other partners at the County Hall in Matlock on Friday, January 27 2012 from 4pm to 6pm..
This year’s theme ‘Speak Up, Speak Out’ asks us to think about the responsibility and obligation we all have to speak up when we see or hear something which we believe to be wrong or when other people suffer. It challenges us to learn about what happens when we don’t use our voice and what can happen when we do Speak Out.
Please, follow the Arts Derbyshire website for bookings: http://www.artsderbyshire.org.uk/whats_on/speak_up_speak_out/default.asp
I look forward to seeing you there.
There are also other events planned in various locations in Derbyshire during the week leading on to the 27th January in which you or your colleagues might be interested in.
