An intense weather system named as Storm Katie by the Met Office is set to lash Derbyshire.
The Met Office has released a severe weather warning for the county between 12.15am and 7pm on Easter Monday.
A Met Office spokesman said: "An area of low pressure is expected to rapidly deepen to the southwest of the UK later on Sunday and then run northeastwards across England and Wales on Monday accompanied by some very strong winds and heavy rain.
"Please be aware of the potential for disruption to outdoor activities and travel as well as the possibility of fallen trees and temporary interruptions to power supplies.
"The public is expected to take extra care."
In the shorter term, the Met Office has issued a severe weather alert for Easter Saturday with warnings of strong winds and heavy rain.
The warnings come as Derbyshire is enjoying a fine Good Friday weather-wise.
