Lady Manners School students exceed expectations

The pupils, aged between 14 and 15-years-old, threw themselves into the fundraising effort from the outset, having set themselves a target of £800.

Imaginative activities such as selling tempting toppings for the normally plain buttered break-time toast and a spot the teacher from the baby photo competition helped to smash the target.

The enthusiastic students voted to support Teenage Cancer Trust, an organisation very dear to their hearts, and wanted to support the work of the charity.

Kelly Scott, from Teenage Cancer Trust, said: “The year ten students at Lady Manners School have worked hard, and hopefully had fun, raising a huge amount of money that will support teenagers and young adults with cancer in the area in which they live.

“As a former pupil of Lady Manners School, I feel very proud to have been able to accept the money raised on behalf of young people with cancer.”
