A CLUB that provided activities for the over 60s has folded after 53 years.
Stanton in the Peak Darby and Joan Club held it final meeting in the Staton Village Hall with members enjoying a glass of sherry and a piece of cake.
The club was formed in 1958 by Dorothy Wain who is now 95 but was still an active member.
It was started as part of volunteers organisation WRVS.
June Wildgoose, Dorothy’s daughter and club leader said the club had closed due to lack of membership and she was retiring after 28 years.
