LETTER: Chesterfield has lost the heart of the town

On the first day of spring, I came to the Monday market. What market?

I was so saddened by what I saw. Instead of seeing the market busy with shoppers, all I saw was empty stalls. On a few of those stalls that were being used, the people selling their goods were trying so hard to be cheerful, but you could see that it was very difficult.
Chesterfield has lost the heart of the town. People would travel for miles to come to the market. So what has happened?
Is it too expensive to hire a stall? Who is responsible for this sorry state of affairs?
Perhaps we could have an answer.
