Pupils at one Dales school have begun a new chapter of learning after the completion of a state-of-the-art library.
Children at St Joseph’s School, Matlock, have been enjoying their brand-new facilities after the official opening last Friday.
The funding for the library came after the PTA raised a whopping £6,000 through various fund-raising events.
Maazi Indian Restaurant and Nutts Carpets also contributed to the new library.
Mia Thompson, a pupil at St Joseph’s, said: “The new library is really important to us because we love books and now have loads of them.”
To mark the occasion author Hilary McKay, of Tansley, dropped by to give a talk to the children and even donated some of her own books.
