A CHIRPY pensioner blew out the candles to mark another remarkable birthday milestone.
Lily Kirby turned 104 last Thursday and celebrated the extra special day with a buffet tea at Masson House care home in Matlock Bath.
Senior carer Jenny Wilson said: “Two of her sons came along and two of her daughters-in-law.
“It went lovely, she really enjoyed herself.”
Lily married Harold aged 22 in 1929 and the couple enjoyed 66 years together before his death in 1995. He was a coal-mining official while Lily looked after their home and children. She lived independently in her Swinton home until 2008 when she moved to Masson House.
