Making the most of summer nights at Matlock outdoor market

Stall holders will be spreading a little summer love as the hours of an outdoor market are extended.

As part of Matlock Festival, which starts this Saturday, the weekly outdoor market held at Park Head, in Hall Leys Park, is extending its hours to include a special Summer Nights Market from 4pm to 8pm this Wednesday.

There will be 40 stalls for people to muse over as well as children’s entertainment, live music from Benjy CJ, face painting, balloon modelling and a bouncy castle.

Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse and Princess Peppa Pig will be there in the evening between 5pm and 6pm.

Wendy Spencer, director of Matlock Town Team, which has organised the marker, said: “We’re really happy to be part of Matlock Festival and hope the public take the opportunity to visit our Summer Nights Market.

“With regular stall holders staying and new ones popping up for the evening, we’re sure they’ll be lots to browse.”
