Man dies after A515 crash

A 21-year-old man has died after a three car collision on the A515.

The accident happened at around 8.05pm last night (Thursday) on the A515 near Biggin, just south of the junction with the A5012 Via Gellia.

A 21-year-old Hadfield man, who has not yet been named, was driving a Peugeot 206 vehicle.

The 48-year-old driver of a Mazda 6, who is from Buxton, sustained an ankle injury and was taken to Stepping Hill Hospital for treatment. A man and woman from Great Longstone, who were travelling in a Peugeot 407, were treated at Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Royal Hospital for minor injuries and later discharged.

The two Peugeots were travelling south and the Mazda was being driven in the opposite direction.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses, or anyone who saw any of the vehicles before the collision to contact them on 101.
