A MAN who called police and confessed to an attempted robbery has been jailed for more than three years.
Craig Clarke was sentenced at Derby Crown Court on Friday, November 25 to 38 months in prison after pleading guilty to attempted robbery.
The 30-year-old approached a woman as she walked her dog near to the Derbyshire County Council offices in Matlock on November 2.
He threatened her and demanded money but the victim ran off.
Shortly after, Clarke, of no fixed abode, phoned police and confessed to the crime.
