The road was closed between Ambergate and Cromford for several hours after the collision.

Firefighters, paramedics and an air ambulance attended the scene and a woman was reportedly taken to hospital after she was freed from the wreckage.

The male driver of the car suffered fatal injuries. He has now been named by police as 67 year-old Colin Taylor, of Gresley Road, Sheffield.
