Man with knuckle duster is ordered to pay £225
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Tuesday how Danny Matthews, 24, of Peasehill, Ripley, was caught with the weapon after police visited his home enquiring about another matter.
Gillian Foxcroft, prosecuting, said there was no suggestion of threats or dangerous circumstances and the knuckle duster was found in Matthews’ tracksuit bottoms.

Hide AdMatthews told police he had bought the knuckle duster from a friend in the street and aimed to turn it into a grip for his fishing rod.
He pleaded guilty to possessing a weapon in public after the incident on April 13.
Magistrates fined Matthews £120 and he must pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
