Man rescued from Peak District after boulder fall

Rescuers were called to Edale after a man fell on to boulders.

Buxton and Edale Mountain Rescue Teams Snatch Squad was called out on Saturday afternoon, following reports of an injured walker on Kinder Scout.

A 64-year-old man from Rotherham was discovered at the top of Golden Clough, he was walking along the Southern Edge path when he slipped, falling about two metres onto boulders.

He sustained leg and head injuries.

The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulancealso attended.

The man was treated on site by the air ambulance doctor and carried on a stretcher by team members to the waiting helicopter.

He was then flown to the Northern General Hospital, Sheffield for further treatment.
