Man suffers facial injuries in assault

Police are appealing for information after a man suffered injuries during an assault in Staveley.

A man told police he saw two men trying to break into his garage, on Immingham Grove, at about 3.45am on Saturday.

He followed the men as they took off and they turned around and started attacking the victim.

The man, 47, was found by a taxi driver after the assault, which took place on Chesterfield Road.

He was taken to hospital in Chesterfield with facial injuries and bruising to his body. Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
