We are writing to you to tell how much we enjoyed last Saturday’s Farmer’s Market which was held at the parkhead in Hall Leys Park.
Despite the cold weather, large numbers of people were clearly happy to look around the stalls, and the whole scene brought a breath of fresh air to the town.
The stalls fitted-in brilliantly amongst the greenery of the park and this venue is surely the way forward when considering strategies for encouraging trade and visitors to the town. The integration of other activities, alongside the regular market stalls, ie Matlock In Bloom plant swap, added further to the atmosphere of the morning, fostering a really good community spirit.
Perhaps future market days could incorporate other town groups, giving them a platform for their activities, and pulling even more folk into the market.
