Doctor Who’s famous Tardis will materialise at Gulliver’s Kingdom to face the Daleks this summer, as the Dales theme park rolls back the decades to celebrate its 35th anniversary.
The legendary time machine - the very one seen on the BBC show - will be landing at the Matlock Bath attraction on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th July, along with K9 and a motorised Dalek as the park marks its 35th birthday with a party designed to celebrate each of the decades it has been in existence.
Staff are already speculating whether budding timelords at the park may be headhunted by BBC bosses searching for the next Doctor.
A spokesman said: “We know the BBC is on the lookout for the next Doctor Who since Matt Smith announced he was leaving - there’s no reason why one of our visitors couldn’t fit the bill! We’ll be putting plenty of pictures on our website, Facebook and Twitter pages in case casting directors want to check them out for inspiration!”
The park will be offering family tickets at the specially discounted price of just £35 for four people throughout the birthday weekend to celebrate its 35th year.
Children are invited to come along in fancy dress - the theme is “icons over the decades” so they can let their imaginations run wild planning costumes from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and this decade in the hope of winning the prize for the best dressed - an overnight stay in Gulliver’s Warrington hotel worth £500.
Guests will also be treated to performances by CBeebies ZingZillas who are touring Gulliver’s three locations on selected dates all summer.
Gulliver’s Kingdom opened in 1978, and has been one of the Midlands’ most popular tourist attractions for the last 35 years. The theme park specialises in affordable days out for families with children aged two to 13.
