Matlock cannabis farm raid

A man has been arrested on suspicion of growing cannabis after police raided his home yesterday (Thursday).

At 1.25pm, police officers raided the property in Mettesford, Matlock, and discovered a quantity of suspected cannabis plants.

A 35-year-old man was charged with production of a class B controlled substance and has been released on bail.

Derbyshire Police have recently been raising awareness of cannabis farms in residential properties – as opposed to in industrial premises.

A police spokesperson said: “This is exactly the sort of cannabis farm we are targeting.”
