Matlock florist scoops excellence award

The award, which is given to anyone who is judged by Matlock In Bloom’s committee to have raised the standard of the town’s environment, was presented to the Matlock shop on Friday, July 12.

Owner Robert Young said he was “thrilled” to be the first proud owner of the new award at a small ceremony outside his shop in Crown Square.

Paddy Petch, of Matlock in Bloom said: “We chose Robert Young as the winner because of his outstanding shop frontage which has attracted so much positive comment.

“In the near future, we are hoping to announce more examples of superb work in the town, but if you can suggest worthy winners, please send us your nomination.”

Matlock Camera Club are also involved in the Award for Excellence initiative and images taken from examples of excellence will be brought together in an exhibition.
