Matlock hopefuls can apply to be PCSOs

The police is looking for 16 new recruits in Derbyshire.

Derbyshire Constabulary is seeking to recruit Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs).

PCSOs are uniformed civilian staff who do not have the powers of a police officer. They work with police officers and are based within local Safer Neighbourhood teams.

A virtual surgery to discuss the role of PCSOs will be held between 3pm to 7pm today.

There will be a brief online assessment that interested candidates will need to complete. The form will be available from Midday on Friday, June 8 to Midday on Monday, June 11.

An application form will be sent to those selected on Friday, June 15. Completed applications must be received back by 4pm on Monday, June 25.

Successful applicants will commence training at police headquarters on Monday, September 3.
