The club, which has been active for 73 years, is open to women who enjoy friendship and fellowship while doing a little for people who need help.

In the past year the club has given financial support to Ashgate Hospice, Aquabox, Greenaway Workshop, Great Ormand Street Hospital, Matlock and District Talking Newspaper and Young Carers.

Members also filled shoe boxes at Christmas and ran a tombola stall at the Victorian Market to raise funds for local charities. They have also sent knitted blankets, baby bundles, bobble hats and haberdashery boxes overseas with the Nottingham police convoy.

The club meets at the Imperial Rooms on the third Wednesday of the month (except August) at 7.30pm.
