Danielle, who works part time in Twenty Ten, said: “It was lovely to find out he had won. We weren’t really expecting it.

“We only entered the competition for a bit of fun.”

She said Lenny is no shrinking violet when it comes to getting attention.

“He is a cheeky little man,” Danielle added.

“He’s always got something to say and he’s very affectionate – he’s always coming for kisses.”

Lenny has won a Tomy toy, a family ticket to the upcoming Disney on Ice production Dare to Dream at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, as well as a £50 voucher courtesy of Frankie and Benny’s, which he can enjoy with his five–year–old sister Demi.

The Cute Kids competition was launched in August this year, with youngsters having their pictures snapped at The Play Mill, in Bonsall.

Mercury readers were then invited to vote for their favourite child.

Danielle said: “Everybody is very proud of him.”
